Canadian Pedophile Was Cruise Ship Youth Staff

A pedophile with a twisted taste for young boys, has been convicted of his crimes, and is awaiting sentencing in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Jeremy Raymond Pike, age 35 (now), of Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada worked as a recreation director aboard a cruise ship, had forms in his possession to become a foster parent as well as forms for adoption, when investigators dug into his sordid past.
Pike has been in custody since July 19, 2005 after being arrested at his home. Police were called on July 13, 2005 by the Durham Children’s Aid Society after receiving a report of sexual assault allegations against Pike.
Police racked up 80 charges against him in the course of their investigation. At the time of his arrest, Pike was a Grade 5 teacher at Glen Street Public School in south Oshawa, Ontario.
Durham Regional Police seized computer images from Jeremy Pike's home in Bowmanville as part of their investigation into sex attacks on two 5 year old boys dating back to 1998. They say it is the largest case of sexual crimes against children in Durham Regional history. This brings the known window of crimes to possibly 1998 to July 2005. However he may have been assaulting children since the early 90s, when he was in his early 20s.
The defendant pleaded guilty to 10 charges relating to assaults on six boys, some of them as young as six years old when they were abused in incidents that ranged from sexual touching to sodomy. Pike is facing 14 years in prison for his crimes against children, a rather light sentence by United States standards.
Prosecutors say he had a long history of grooming boys for sexual abuse, but have not been able to tie him to any sexual assaults of children aboard cruise ships.
Cruise Bruise is adding this case to the data base, because it is highly probable, that a pedophile with a long history of sexual abuse, has incidents in his past, not yet discovered.
With a job aboard a cruise ship as a recreation director, he clearly had positioned himself to be in contact with children, and to gain their trust, as well as the trust of their parents while aboard a cruise ship.
Jeremy Pike worked as a teacher, in a trusted position, making his way into children's lives, in all the typical pedophile ways. He has a long record of working with and volunteering for activities that involved children.
Pike would babysit, tutor and take children on outings. He even coached the T-ball team of one of his victims and worked as an activity coordinator for Big Brothers in London, Ontario.
The prosecution has worked to admit photographs into evidence that had Jeremy Pike posing with boys aboard a cruise ship. Det. Bussanich said there were numerous photos of Mr. Pike, working in his job as a youth activity director on a cruise ship, posing with boys on his lap.
There were also videos of Pike with some of the children. Police say the videos amounted to 13 hours of recordings. The prosecution says some of the boys appear to have slept through the assaults, and have little memory of the incidents. Still, prosecutors have been unable to prove the children might have been drugged to render them compliant.
Although police have identified six victims, the identities of two young boys Mr. Pike filmed himself abusing haven't been conclusively determined.
If your children came into contact with Jeremy Pike, perhaps took photographs with him, it might be a good idea to discuss the cruise in more depth with your children to see if any part of the discussion seems to make them uncomfortable, without actually discussing sexual assault.

Due to Canadian leniency with sex offenders, he may be out of jail in only a few years.
The Ontario, Canada government protects pedophiles with no access to their sex offender registry to the general public. Only police, such as the Ontario Provincial Police have access to the registry.
Pedophiles in Canada have a right to privacy, that lets them cloak their fiendish desires while living among good and honest people after their release from prison. The only way to prevent their access to children, is to keep them in jail for every crime they have committed.

A Cruise Bruise visitor tells us that Pike worked with him aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's Adventure Of The Seas in 2003 and 2004. He tells us,
"He actually worked as Youth Staff and not a Recreation Director and therefore worked directly with the kids on board. Thinking back he would often say that his favorite age group was the 6-8 year olds. "

Raymond Pike, 57, a truck driver, father of Jeremy Pike was sentenced to 17 months in jail for sexual assaults on a child which Ontario Court Justice Kofi Barnes said amounted to "a serious breach of trust." "(The victim) was only 7-years-old at the time of the incidents."
The judge said Mr. Pike, who was entrusted to care for the child on several occasions and took several opportunities to molest her, "breached a sacred trust."
Mr. Pike was sentenced the day after his son, Jeremy Pike, was slapped with 80 more charges of sexually molesting children and making child pornography.
Raymond Pike was found guilty of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference after a trial in June. The judge found he molested a 7-year-old girl on three occasions between January 2002 and January 2003; the child disclosed the abuse to a parent and her kindergarten teacher.
