January 2002 - $3000 Stolen
I have taken 17 cruises on the QE2. I have been robbed three times, twice on one cruise. The first time I was robbed on the ship was in January 2002. I notice someone went through my handbag. Then they did it again the next night.
I decide to check my wallet and money in the safe. Thats when I notice I was robbed. In fact my cabin was not to far away from the Security Office on the trip.
I was upset for several days. This happened on the world cruise. I went from New York to Sydney, Australia.
The security head went through my stuff and handbag looking for my money. He kept saying I left the money at home. I told him I did not. I think they took $3,000 that time.
They took the money out of my safe. They must had a pass key to get in the cabin and into the safe. I always thought someone in security did it.
Some of the crew was trying to get me to shut up, but I refuse. My friend Chiyomi talk me into coming back, because anyone could get robbed.
March 2004 - $5000 Stolen
The second time I was robbed, I had trouble with my safe in my cabin and the security man was suppose to come back and put new batteries in the safe, but he did not.
This was the night before we arrived in Hong Kong. I left the ship the second day we were in Hong Kong. They took about $5,000 in American Express Travelers checks and some cash.
I was treated like nothing happen. They would not investigate. I tried to get the Manager to get involve and he would not.
I saw the head of security when I left the ship. He said he was busy with other things. That was my last time on a cruise. Everytime they send me a brochure, I throw it out.
I had my lawyer send a letter to Cunard to the President. She did not get an answer to the letter.
