Carnival Inspiration Crew Member Gets Medevac
Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Florida medevaced a 37-year-old woman at about 9:30 p.m. Monday from the 855-foot Carnival cruise ship Inspiration, homeported in Tampa.
Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, Florida, received a call at 2000 hours on October 5, 2009, from the cruise ship, reporting that crewmember Afrina Ausein, hometown unknown, was suffering from anemic-attack-like symptoms.
The Coast Guard HH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 8:45 p.m., lowered a rescue swimmer to the Inspiration, safely hoisted Ausein to the helicopter and transported her to Tampa (Florida) General Hospital.
