RCCL Crew With Second And Third Degree Burns Quickly Shuttled Out Of U.S.
Doran McDonald, 29, worked aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines' Legend of the Seas for only a couple days, before he was seriously injured on the job.
Carrying a large, very heavy pan of hot oil just removed from the heat and being ordered to hurry by his supervisor, he slipped and fell in a dirty kitchen the crew had been awakened in the middle of the night to clean. The hot oil ran down his leg and into his rubber work boot. Once there, the searing oil began to fry his leg and foot.
What RCCL did next, had it been to a dog in this country, the public outcry would have sent law enforcement scrambling to arrest somebody, anybody for the torture inflicted on this poor crew member.
This is a story so sickening, so heart-breaking, I don't know how anybody could read this story and then still cruise on a Royal Caribbean International ship. To cruise this line, supports this type of inhumane treatment of human beings.
