Male Passenger Missing Off Norwegian Sky Search Under Way
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has begun searching off the coast of the Bahamas for a male passenger, 39, who disappeared around 0300 hours today while the ship was about 60 miles north of Nassau.
Norwegian Cruise Lines' Norwegian Sky was on a three-day cruise departed from Miami, Florida and was sailing towards Nassau at the time of the man overboard (MOB) call.
Other passengers aboard Norwegian Sky saw the man go overboard, and reported it to ship's officers.
The USCG has sent out an HU-25 Falcon jet crew and an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew, as well as an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter.
The Royal Bahamas Defense Force, the Royal Caribbean Monarch of the Seas cruise ship crew, the Norwegian Pearl cruise ship crew and Disney cruise line small boat crews all in the area at the time of MB, are also participating in the search and rescue.
This story is unfolding, please check back. I am working on getting a case page for the information on this overboard. It will be ready later today with full updates as time goes on.

Female Passenger Disappears Ship Doesn't Report It For Two Weeks
When an ex-nurse traveling alone with plenty of cash and expensive jewelry is not reported missing to police on shore for two weeks, her body is recovered, unidentified and buried in a pauper's grave. Then, her affluent husband comes to town demanding answers.
She has been beaten, robbed, murdered and thrown overboard. Though nobody ever answers for the crime, a sinister fact comes to light that gives clues as to where she died.
It reminds me of the Merrian Carver case, another woman traveling alone, missing at sea, the cruise ship not reporting the disappearance to police...
Another tragic Cruise Bruise cold case is added to the archives. Read the story here

Ex-Chairman Of Corporation Disappears Off Cruise Ship In Port
He was a wealthy, affluent, retired head of a major corporation. They were aboard a Cunard ship in an Alaskan port. She took a nap, he disappeared.
None of the witness stories add up, but one thing is clear. With no road out of town and no ships or aircrafts having taken him out, he met with foul play for sure in this cold case just added to Cruise Bruise. Read this story here

Over A Dozen More Sunk Ships Added To The Site
I simply had to take a break from the tedious work of renovating this site. My heart is never in it, when really I wish I could just get the cases all added to the site. It is always a balancing act.
Last night I added quite a few cases of sinking ships. Most of the cases added are only in brief form. I have documented the date, the ship name, the location, the count on the victims and not much more. These cases will be expanded over time to include full copy case histories. It gives you an idea what is yet to come.
Some of those added include:
- Windjammer Barefoot Cruises' Fantome sinks during Hurricane Mitch off Honduras.
- Sulpicio’s MV Princess Of The Orient sank near Fortune Island in Batangas.
- The MV Moby Dick sinks in high seas
- Club Royale casino ship sinks 90 miles east of Port Canaveral during Hurricane Erin as captain tries and fails to outrun Erin.
- Captain and one of four passengers dies when the freighter Roatan Express sinks 80 miles west of Fort Myers in the Gulf Of Mexico during high seas. The captain does something heroic, as any good captain would, for one of the passengers.
- Ferry Sleipner grounds then sinks off Norway in rough seas.
- Ferry Asia-South Korea sinks off the coast of Cebu Island
Check out the entire Groundings And Sinkings category for some for details on those cases here
