Major Drug Bust On Cruise Ship
A major illegal drug bust on P & O Arcadia netted seven felons and 30 kilos of cocaine with a street value of £1.2  million ($2,085,271.88 US) . Arcadia was returning from a 23-night cruise to the Caribbean and was attempting to disembark in Southhampton, United Kindgom. Those arrested were all passengers and had the cocaine strapped to their bodies.

A medical evacuation of woman age 31 from Royal Carribbean Cruise Lines' Sovereign of the Seas off Port Canaveral, Florida took place after the woman complained of abdominal pains on Friday.

Cruise Industry Advocates Pitch Ditching School For Cruising
If the dumbing down of America had not already reached a high enough internationally embarrasssing level, the cruise industry advocates are now pitching parents to keep their kids out of school so the family can take a cruise, calling it "an educational adventure." When American schools and their benefit can be compared to a buliding full of drunks, people stoned on illegal drugs, sex offenders roaming the halls, children sexually assaulted, brawls, murders and people missing in broad daylight it is high time parents take a closer look at the school board.

Cruise Ship Security Guard Child Sex Offender
Shaun Kenneth Bannan, 30, of Whangarei, was arrested at Brisbane International Airport in January by police from Task Force Argos after he arrived on a flight from New Zealand. Between August and October 2006 Bannan befriended a Taskforce Argos police officer posing as "Isabella", a 12-year-old girl living in Brisbane, the Brisbane Supreme Court was told today. Bannan had just been hired as a cruise ship security guard and was flying to the port when arrested.

Honeymoon Couple Defrauded On Mariner Of The Seas
Stephen and Kimberly Wood tell how they were sold art which was fraudulently overpriced by Park West at Sea on their honeymoon  aboard the Royal Caribbean International cruise ship Mariner of the Seas in May 2007. The Woods paid $3,153.25 for the etching. They were told the value of the etching was $5000. The real value was $200-$400.

Bermuda Cruise Traffic On The Dive As American Economy Heads South
January the cruise arrivals have dropped 17.95 percent compared to the first eight months in 2007. August alone saw a 31 percent drop in cruise ship visitors, which means 21,000 less cruise ship passengers visited that month compared to the previous year. August is usually considered one of the most popular months for visitors; however this year saw 47,855 passengers descend from ships, rather than the 69,619 who visited in August 2007.
